I'd first look at the group from which the training request was made and then plot the following.

  • Topic
  • Agenda
    • Objective
    • What
    • Why
    • How etc
  • Takeaways from the topic
  • Cases on common scenarios or FAQs

The presentation or the material has to be very appealing, engaging, stimulating and encouraging explaning the logics while analysiing them.

Questionaire will help in clearing a lot of doubts and make the training appear complete as well.

I believe that you need to cover3 main areas when creating a presentation in general; your targeted audience, the objective of this presentation and the desired outcome.
You can also think of what are the top5 key learning lessons the attendees will get out of the presentation.
But when it is for educational/training purpose then you need to make sure the topic is relevant and have a good understanding on, make sure the content is interactive, includes exercises, stories, video tutorials,etc...
you can ask for feedback from direct managers prior to presenting to the team.

I like to start with the audience and work my way back, because the more you know about your audience, the more you can tweak your material to appeal to them more.
