In control engineering, the Oldest PLC system concept is consist of a switch (or a relay) that is when inputted logically with Signal (Voltage) will magnetize its coil and in turn actuating the metal conductor to create a current path on its output legs. And a ready source (usually AC and/or DC voltages) to be used to supply the Load, if logic will allow current path thru relay.
