At first, to know the level of learners an instructor can carry out a diagnostic test by giving a theme to talk or compose. This will give a reasonable impression of the ability of the understudies.

The first thing you should do is to introduce yourself to the students and then ask the students to introduce themselves. It is important that you refer to your students by name as this makes communication more respectful. You can also ask a few questions to gauge the level of understanding and participation of the students as this will help you adjust you teaching style to suit the students' needs.

The first thing to be done, is to introduce myself, and ask one by one of the students to introduce themselves . Secondly, after putting all students at ease, i make an oral test ; that is i give them a small paragraph to read because i believe oral is as important as written English. I need to assess them in order to know where they are standing with the language so i can plan from where to start . I will assess them ;they will have to write an essay; which will help me know if their grammar is good. From that first class i will then start my explanations. Of course, i will not tell the students that they are being evaluated instead i will tell them that it is just a small work. We will have a lot of class discussions for i believe they should all participate equally in the class so no one lacks behind. they will be given equal attention.

The first session would be a free time devoted to knowing each other, communicating and ice-breaking. During this session, the teacher should be able to build a comprehensive idea about the target group with whom s/he will  spend a whole school year. S/he should try to memorize names especially, first names so that the teacher-student communication will more intimate and friendly. The should know all the necessary things about his/her students' lives, likes and hopes in order to be able to meet their needs of self-esteem, self-confidence, respect of others, achievement , security, belonging... This would be very important. It allows the teacher build bridges between her/him and the students which facilitates the circulation of information in general and the school curriculum in particular. In this first class, the teacher should also emphasize the importance of the courses s/he intends to deliver in the forthcoming sessions and especially, their worth and value in improving and enriching the students' lives and minds. It's very interesting to some students to know the objectives and usefulness of what they study and see in the classroom .

The first meeting with the students is the decisive step in the teaching career, i mean through this meeting, the teacher is going to give and take the first impression. In my first contact with my students, I greeted them, then introduced my full name to make them fell at ease then I played the game of the ball, in which the person to take the ball will introduce him/herself to the class.After that i did an assessment to see their entry level.
