People at different levels with a click of a button can view anytime the updated information regarding the financial health, pricing, sales, inventory, critical customers issues, etc..
IT provides revolutionary communication tool and saves enormous time.
Time saving is money saving! IT also ensures that complex multi step activities are conducted consistently and on schedule.
Data management involves data mining and IT provide method of pushing information to users for business activities.
Everything changes with time and therefore it is important to realign the human resources with the business need and their knowledge, skill sets and potential.
Please ensure a persuasive communication with the human resources to accept the changes as a challenge to be won for mutual benefits.
This is important to avoid any negative behavioral changes resulting in negative attitude which might result as a disaster.

Even some companies start from the scratch  improve the performance quickly;

so, its quite easy.

1. basic IT infrastructure is necessary, but not  modern; 

2. Of course, employees  and their expertise, know-how play a vital role, but proper training is required. every one should understand the company's vision and mission

3. Proper distribution of task in order to get the performance.

4. some thing else is the founder/ Chief of the organization who drives the people and company- should have the confidence, be  optimistic and be a good leader and not a mere manager!

By me all above are important but I would add good communication among units of organisation, because mainly misscommunication causes problems in large company
