COBOL is one of the old programming languages and most of the people have no much idea about it as its not taught in Colleges or schools.
The demand for COBOL programmers are in my opinion Medium to High but depends on place.
COBOL also known as Common business Oriented language used on Mainframe server and is widely used in banking, Insurance, Payments, Health Care. This language is used for building IT application solutions/products as per business needs.
Mainframe server has ability to perform huge amount of data processing as required by Giant IT companies.
