Well this is a very good question. In my opinion if we were living in a fair world then everybody would done the specific tasks he/she was employed to perform. But many people have this problem with power and authority and they believe that they can ask or demand various tasks you're not obliged to provide. Of course the employee due to lack of power and because he/she is subordinate, eventually he/she is "forced" to provide. I don't mean something illegal or sexual harassment but things outside the employee's working field, like taking out the garbage, cleaning the A/C, fixing the printer etc. Hence, my final word is that this isn't right but it's surely happening.
It depends,,, if it is not out the bylaw or the ethical norms, to do some tasks to warm the relations or make a case more flexible why not. But actually, I do not fully consider that it is the right case coming from the employer. I absolutely resist the requests which are out of law.

It's depends upon relation between co - workers or Boss and conditions.
In private sector, you must have to do any unrelated duty.
