I think a teacher should be patient, kind, forceful, able to yell and discipline but still able to be funny and nice to the good kids, creative, imaginative, having the ability to make lessons fun. A teacher should make you think. A good teacher should not punish the whole class for what one student does. A teacher should be able to help struggling students and challenge the gifted ones. A teacher should be able to give good notes and fair tests. A teacher should be a fair grader. A good history teacher should be able to teach events like a story. A successful lesson was one in the8th grade, when my History teacher, talked to us about WW1. She made us laugh, answered our qustions right away, and we even had a fake trench war hiding under our desks and throwing paper balls. The whole class aced the WW1 test, because the teacher kept us engaged, gave us tricks to remember things, and made history fun. An example of a bad teacher is someone who yells at the whole class when one students misbehaves, threatens punishments and never follows through, only reads out of the textbook, gives too much homework, never challenges the top students, helps certain students on their tests, favors certain students or groups of students, lectures on and on (making the class fall asleep), will not talk to parents, seems to hate every student, singles one student out, holds grudges, etc.
