 If he/she is well paid, then I will promote his achievements and increase the company's sense of appreciation for the efforts and focus on satisfying the need of recognition.

Good evening. In my opinion, I would give him bonus. Since promotion of best selling employee is not possible either every time on achievement of sales target or on yearly bases due to confinement of position in the organization but if he will get reward as bonus then his performance will be consistent also it will set pace to other member in the team which ultimately help to improve companies business.
