As far as my opinion is concerned, I prefer to work with a leader.

Manager tells the subordinates how to work, the leader sets an example by demonstrating. Manager tells his team what are the best practices. The leader's lifestyle itself is the best practice.

with a leader.

A manager who leads from the front. A manager who does things by example before expecting others to follow. Now a days u have only knowledge workers who are  academically as qualified  as the manager is.

Hence he has to be careful. He cannot just order emploees like he dealt with workers even50 years ago.

Hence personnel management is now called HR mgt.

I have no preference. I'm fine with working with both manager and leader.

It all depend on the individual and how well they perform, of cause you need support and backing of your manager and leader.

  • The workers naturally try to work with a leader because as human as naturally having covetousness in himself so worker has to think about his future too which step could compel him to think about working with leader.
