What should a candidate reply when asked during a job interview about salary expectations?

the response should be generic such as:

1. i would expect the revenue to reflect current market trends

2. as long as it is a fair amount which i trust you will ensure, i'll be fine with that

3. the Dirham amount is not important, what is important is that the work i'm doing benefits the team and is inline with the company mission and vision

Candidate should search the market Trend of particular position.

Then in interview reply firstly that Sir i expect the salary that motivate me , Satisfied enough to provide value to your organization.

Remember do not say directly i expect that........e.t.c it is wrong approach.

But we just can Provide the company the range You want.

It is very simple for interviewee will have an expectation to negotiate salary. However, interviewee should be careful to negotiate salary according to position and market salary condition. It should be very competitive of similar organization.

Well it depends on the job that you are applying for and your chances of landing the job. If you don't have much experience or background in that position, then it is safe to tell that you're not going to expect much but hoping that it will be based on your interview and qualifications. But if they really require you to give an answer, then probably give them the salary you think you deserve for the job and then add twenty percent more. The reason why you need to add? Well mainly if you say a specific salary, chances are they will bargain to have it lowered, so if you give them a high salary that is higher than what you are satisfied with, then chances are they will bargain, and you will still have the salary that you aimed for. If you want to be safe and you don't want to jeopardize the entire interview by overselling and underselling yourself, just give them a range. 

First we have to clear about job profiles and what's the result of our interview done. if we think our interview done well. then we can say that according to market value for this job profile, The salary range is X Rs. to Z Rs. tell them about your previous salary and say that i expect more than this salary.

The candidate shouldn’t mention any ideal or pre tailored answer. The candidate should reflect positive and professional attitude and flexibility to discuss a fair offer as per the company scale and standards.

It is not taboo talking about salary on interview todays. But, we should be discreet for this question to answer, preparing this answer is better by making a research on the market which is same occupation and level of company, following the market average is better choice.
