  • People think its inexpensive
  • Many people believes its a matter of just a month or two maximum whereas it takes a lot of time to make your content lovable by the visitors.
  • A very shameful belief from the employers that a customer just read the content and would make the purchase
  • content marketing is the same thing as the SEO
  • you will plan to make a content that will go viral
  • more contents equal higher reach

I am not of this field, sorry and kind regards for your invitation.

I will state ten myths, rondomly chosen:

  1. Content Marketing is the same as Content Creation or Content Generation.(No, marketing is still is marketing, even in the case of content)
  2. Content Marketing is just another SEO-technique (No, content marketing boosts SEO, but is more than that. It actually uses SEO to market itself)
  3. Content Marketing is only digital. (No, content marketing is quite an old strategy that took off with the digital revolution of web2.0, seminars, workshops, presentations, newspapers,  industry reports & magazines were older forms)
  4. A quality content will get noticed anyway even without repetitive marketing. (A quality content will get noticed by those who you market it to)
  5. Content Marketing is purely organic and does not cost money. (No, it can be as expensive as PPC, Pay-per-Click advertising)
  6. It is easy to become an expert at Content Marketing (Content Creators, Generators, Curators are not the same as Marketers).
  7. Content Marketing is not cut for every industry (Wrong, many industries flourish faster via content marketing, like the Content Marketing industry itself, Digital Marketing or Social Media marketing, but it is for all industries)
  8. Content Marketing is just a campaign; temporary hype that will fade away soon as a term, and a temporary campaign that ends up when an objective is reached. (No, it's there to stay long as an industry and is it not a campaign but an approach and a philosophy).
  9. Content Marketing biggest metric is sales-conversion. (No, content marketing can have multiple objectives like any other marketing strategy, like brand-awareness or PR)
  10. SEO agencies are the best place of Content Marketing. (No, SEO agencies traditionally care more for quantity than for quality, more for production than for promotion)
