WHY DOES SEPSIS PREVAILS MORE IN PRE TERM BABIES?

1-immature immune system,

2- nosocomial infection

3-multiple iv access

4-abusing antibiotics use create resistance

5-formula feeding and NEC relations so EBM is preferable

6- others

In my opinion, premature babiea are more prone to infections because they have under developed immune system to fight against infection, as well as undeveloped  various vital organs.

Immature development of immune system

In my own opinion, sepsis occurs more in preterm babies because their immune system is not well developed. They are prone to infection if the health care workers doesn't religiously practice hand hygiene before and after patient contact.
