No, under a graphic designer there is many specialities, Advertising, layout artist, corporate identity, illustrator artist, books, packaging, retouching, and so on, we are using the programs according to our speciality and our experience

If you are asking about tools all programs are not enough for creative designer :)

Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign are the basice tools for printing designer; for layout design and embedding photos, illustration and typography. if you go for more techniques to illustrate your images and graphs you need a3d modeling tool and sometimes visual effects to create abstract BGs and high definition artistic details.

Graphic Design is a wide sector. For different sectors, its uses different. Program or software develop to cover all purpose. So that, as per our sector, we use only our required portions.

Ofcourse not and not a good thing anyway some people specilize not just in one softwear but in one tool like brushes or so..the more specialized you are the better but at the end how you use those softwear depends on your needs and what you want to do.

In my opinion, I don't think any designer ever uses 100% of what a software can provide as combining different tools will open ways to various and endless possibilities while different designers will experiment and use the software in different methods. Ultimately it depends on the task they are trying to acheive.

The software is just a tool but how it is used varies depending on the designer themselves.
