by answering this question we will know how much knowledge the person who will answer have about the security surveillance solutions market in each country as there are many players in this market and the competition is very aggressive, with a variety of types from the IP based solution (1,2,3,5,8 MP..HD, Full HD..etc), and the Analogue based solutions (600,700.10 TVL & HD-SDI) so its important to know about what exactly you know about this market.
There is no one brand fits all in the industry , The solution should be based on the clients needs . In south africa for a certain type of client a product like hikvision will meet their operational requirements. Personally I like geovision , avigilon and nuuo head end equipment. As a system designer and intergrator i do find different products outshine others in specific applications . I prodominently install IP based systems and A very important aspect of the systems that is often not commented on are infrastructure components such as switches , media converters and cable type and quality. You can put the best globally recognised brands of cameras and best head end running awsome dell servers but if you install them on cheap entry level switches they will just not perform. Another impoortant aspect to consider is compatability between various products. I personally believe head end must match cameras in terms of brands. Onvif is great to a point. I invite you to give an application. i will then gladley give my opinion which product is good for the application.
