A marketing consultant will bring to any company a non biased fresh marketing advice based on Internal situation Analysis and External Situation Analysis (SWOT), as part of research. He/she will work based on an identified or defined problem to which he/she is supposed to find a solution. Sometimes, the problem is not yet identified, let alone defined.

 

He/she will have the advantage of not being bound by existing (or new) corporate or business culture and its expectations and long traditions. He/she will not (should not) concentrate on what management WANTS to know but rather on what it NEEDS to know, in order for it to translate its marketing efforts into positive outcomes in alignment with existing (or newly suggested) marketing strategies.
