ITIL is a framework as you mentioned ... hence the word conform to

 

It is NOT a standard that youorganizations comply with  ...  It is more of a reference or a guideline based on best practie in IT service management ,.. regardless of vendor, platform, system, industry sector, size of what so ever.    Hence it is good to benefit from this framework and adopt/embrace solutions that implement these recommedatons and guidelines 

 

ISO20000 , however is a different story as it is a standard that organizations can comply with if they wish ,, and get certified accordingly
