Which do you prefer, chat support or a live phone call with a CSR? Why?

If I'm the customer, i prefer chatting if it's just an easy to resolve issue, otherwise, a phone call would be more preferable if the problem is complex or needs escalation just to make sure it is recorded for quality assurance.
