Legally you are committing an offence and under the penalty of perjury, so better leave before getting subpoena or consult with a legal advisor.

What is the reason for the illegality?

- Is it because of normal regulations (such as selling telecom services in the UAE) which is against the telecom regulations in the UAE? Then try to make it legal by getting the necessary licenses. If you cannot succeed, and you wish to keep working for the company, then go to work for it in other countries where its activities are legal.

 

- Is the reason for illegality because of other reasons, such as selling alcohol or other products and services that are against religion or ethics, then either you leave the company or you leave the country.

As you are a manager, you are also responsible for breaking the law,  so Leave ASAP, and report the matter to authorities.

Certain Policy decisions by the government may put into effect all of a sudden considering some social/ethical  issues connected with it. Examples of such businesses are

1. Conduct of Lotteries and gambling

2. Pan and tobacco products

3. Conduct of chits

4. Alcoholic supplies  and many similar type of businesses. 

The government may make such orders with effect from a particular date; and it is mandatory that the orders are to be strictly adhered to and immediately stop the operations and approach a legal consultant to settle the pending  economic transactions and dissolve the legal status of the firm in accordance with the law prevailing in the operating country.  It is also mandatory to see that the employees settlements are properly paid allow them a release in accordance with the best alternatives as per the choice of the employees, and also to initiate all the closure formalities including payment of tax revenue if any to the government. As a manager these are the responsibilities; and all the affairs are timely reported to the controlling office where the international operations transacting. If the operations are legally conducted till the date it is declared otherwise, surely there will be legal protection  with all human rights.

I would quit and report the matter.

This situation should NOT occur in good disciplines business companies. No decent company would announce a service or a product in a country unless it checks its legality first !!

  I will contact the head office and pursue them to get necessary permissons and the make the service as legal.

If your service is illegal, then you won't get the license to sell it, but still if your firm is selling it, then I would suggest to leave the firm and go somewhere else !!!
