Is there real value for the money you spend on purchasing a luxury product?

I believe that spending on Luxury items is in the form of Indirect "Taxation" and the revenue passes through many economic zones.

In most cases fair amount of disparity exist between real value and luxury . But sometime real value is way above you pay now. like Patek philippe watch was sold with original value of50000 $ but then resold in one million and then in3.5 million$.
