I agree with the answer added by: Kheireddine zeghida

First: There are two common types of printers: inkjet printer, and other laser cartridges and each of their own may be black and white or color cartridges.

Second: cartridges laser printers are fast printing text or images on various kinds of paper and the quality is excellent, unlike the inkjet printers that on the contrary of the first was slow and poor quality images and text.

Let me put this way,  cartridges now a days have different models and brands.  Inkjet Cartridges works on fixed head and disposable head type. Some of these inkjet cartridges can be recycled or refillable  and some are disposable after first use. On the otherhand, Laserjet cartridges can also be recyled or refilled.

Let me emphasize the difference:

Inkjet cartridges: Uses Liquid Inks like: Dye,sublimation, pigment                         and eco-solvent.

Laserjet Cartridges: Uses Powderized toner Powders consisting                        of different colors like black, cyan, magenta, yellow,L.cyan,                              L.magenta. The powder becomes liquid only when you run the                        machine and meets a certain temperature that heats up the                            powder to become liquid and ready to transfer on the paper.
