Are there any good novels which are very interestingly fictional yet very educational?

Will personally I do not enjoy reading fictional novels, I think reading a transparent novel about how the social systim culturally works in a period of time weather during war or peace is the high-end of novel writing. Therefore I urge to read City Of Thieves, it can't get any better than that.
