Hello Ghada,

One of the plausible reasons is whereby a company/professional 'bites more that it can chew' meaning a company/professional can be quite ambitious to acquire so many customers and lack the mechanism of retaining them.

All clients are different and have different needs/requirements. Sometimes it's good to politely decline a client/project and maintain your quality and reputation rather than accepting and failing miserably in delivering the service. This compromises the credibility of a company and a client would share with friends family, basically all and sundry about the experience they had with you as the professional/company. As we all know bad news travels very fast!

- Another reason is failure to follow up on a client after acquirng the project or selling service/product.

Being too busy for a client shows disinterest and they walk away to someone who truly follows up .

- The other reason is failure to stick to our words. As professionals we overpromise alot  to the client and in the end we do not keep our words! This frustrates the client because it shows lack of profesionalism as far as trust is concerened. How can a client trust your work and you cannot even keep your word or promise?

If we follow through with our clients, keep our words and accept what we can take care of and are attentive to the cleints needs, then they will stick with us(profesionals) even though they are bombarded daily with numerous calls from other competitors!

Regards,

Ngina Matheka
