Future perception & expectations of yours
Designs getting simple and solid. No hard gradiations or bewel effects on design as we do earlier. Especially for mobile apps go with solid colors and clear contrast.. (eg: change of iOS7 compared to older iOS versions)
Graphic design is one of the most changed fields concening concepts and style. Designes are increasingly being requested to be simple but expressive and elegant and it's definitely a new tendency in the market.
The designer is being asked to do more with much less time. Before one needed to master one or two disciplines, now we are asked to be more multifacted. The shift to more interactive design has seen the retooling of page layout programs to better equipt designers within similar environments.
I wont comment on style as that is locational/individual/client related. While some a clean and minimalistic, orther are chaotic and expressive. But one thing for sure, designers are now being retooled for more interactivity.
