I think they are few because the lack of interest and passion. for example my parents are deaf so from childhood days sign language was my only way of communicating with them. it was a big part of my life. the passion was there and I had interest it was natural for me.

Well first thing that you need to know is that there isn't an universal sign language amongst the global deaf community. That is a common misconception that the non-deaf have about the deaf culture. Growing up with deaf parents and being exposed to various things in the deaf world I can tell you that sign language is just like regular speech amongst the hearing where there are different languages. Just like how each country speaks and has its own language, the same with sign language. Growing I was taught American Sign Language which is completely different from the sign language being used in Egypt (birthplace of my father) and other countries. I hope this gives you a brand-new insight of the deaf culture and how unique it is.
