What is meant by kick off meeting?

it is offically the project start

We hold a kickoff meeting with all the key stakehoders like team's managers customers ...to make sure everyone is on same page, and that must be done at the end of planning phase and before start executing phase on the project

Kick off meeting is the first meeting before launching the project. In this meeting roles and responsibilities are assigned also SOW, and constraints are discussed. 

 

Gathering of interested parties to discuss plans and startigies before launching a program and projects.

 

The main purpose for this meeting is to explain the project, set expectations among the members of the team, and give them copies of the scope document so they can review and understand fully what is expected. Additionally, open a discussion among team members, giving them an opportunity for sharing ideas and honing the plan.

 

Kick off meeting takes place after acquiring Project Team (HR Management Process) whose output is Project staff assignments, resource calendars.  The PM will call for a meeting with the newly formed project team and inform to the team the project objectives, roles and responsibilities and whom to contact etc in the kick off meeting. 

Launching project execution

The kick-off meeting is also the project workshop where key role players get together to discuss a potential project, requirements, risks, constraints, viability etc.

From this each role player will go away and do the relevant specs/scoping of their part of the project, costing and determine the resources required. Not long after this a scoping workshop will be held where the SOW will be determined etc.

The Kickoff Meeting is the first meeting with the project team and the client of the project.

Kickoff meeting is simply is that to prepar of project plan in only half the work and you must also establish an envornment of leadership and also explain/disccuss common purpose toward completing the work.

Gathering of interested parties to discuss a plan or strategy before launching a program or project.It is used to initiate the project execution phase.  It takes place after the work plan has been endorsed and the associate, contractor, or other vendors have been selected and are ready to begin the work.  Also refer to the chartering meeting tools that may provide additional assistance, especially if it is determined that some chartering topics may be included in the kick-off meeting.
