What are the main trends and future developments in the telecommunication industry in the Middle East?

i do not want to sound pessimistic, but generally this industry is declining in the middle east due to various reasons, infrastructure and coverage have expanded to cover many locations and so the cost to connect is less, and since we have no technology manufacturers in the region who can come up with new technologies (hardware/software), then growth is not probable and the region remains a "consumer" to this industry according to the business needs in any give area.
