How do you make employers buy into your ideas?

One will have to create an idea as an interesting and attractive product. Identify the benefits and advantages of the idea like what a sales person does to promote a product. Having done this one can sell the idea because the customer / employer / buyer only understands the qualitative and quantitative benefits and advantages.
