Cloud computing has four essential characteristics: elasticity and the ability to scale up and down, self-service provisioning and automaticdeprovisioning, application programming interfaces (APIs), billing and metering of service usage in a pay-as-you-go model. 

Cloud computing is offered in different forms: public clouds, private clouds, and hybrid clouds, which combine both public and private. 

Cloud computing can completely change the way companies use technology to service customers, partners, and suppliers. Some businesses, such as Google and Amazon, already have most of their IT resources in the cloud. They have found that it can eliminate many of the complex constraints from the traditional computing environment, including space, time, power, and cost.

2- Contextual computing

is the use of software and hardware to automatically collect and analyze data about a device's surroundings in order to present relevant, actionable information to the end user.

Today, PCs, smartphones and tablets offer some contextual computing capabilities. Wearable computing devices such as Google Glass smart glasses can further the experience, providing the end user with an augmented reality experience or contextual marketing messages. 

Although the concept of contextual computing has been around for decades, the technology still faces two major challenges: it can be difficult to federate data that has been gathered from multiple sources and it can be difficult to convince end users to sacrifice privacy in exchange for a more contextually-aware user experience.
