Usually termed for Emergency/ Life saving system, for example - smoke extraction fan, the motor drive will run the fan till the motor dies, irrespective of it being overheated. Another example would be the UPS.

it mean that the function and working princlple are stable of the system till staring from the current vale or run vale to the death value.
