How do you manage employees' feelings upon assigning them to new responsibilities or tasks outside their comfort zone and they did not ask for?

I do like such situations, cause i take from the challenge side. Mainly people do not like change, so I use a method of let them ask for the change.   try to re-word your proposal and results usually work,. i do this with my company staff
