What is Root Canal Treatment?

Root canal treatment is a treatment sequence for the infected pulp of a tooth which is intended to result in the elimination of infection and the protection of the decontaminated tooth from future microbial invasion.

Teeth roots have hollow spaces containing nerves and blood vessels. If these are exposed due to decay or trauma, dentist makes an access hole, removes the nerve, cleans and disinfects the canals and fill with an innert material. This process is called root canal treatmet.
