What is the difference between java script , flash script , Applet ,VB script and which one you prefer ?

First of all, all thoses programming languages are web based.They are located on the client side.

Javascript is one of the most known and used. It permits to create form controls, gui modification, animations (like mootools, jquery, twinmax, ...) and javascript is the most compatible with any web browser. So it has good interactive capabilities.

Flashscript is call actionscript. There is3 versions : Actionscript1, Actionscript2, Actionscript3. Actions script premits to create flash applications. The inconvience is that any one who want to see an flash application must install  Flash Payer. Another limitation is that flash doesn't work on IOS devices.

And we know that the futur is no more flash but HTML5.

Applets are application that can be run as a plugin on a another application.

Flash is an applet but you also can find Silverlight applets or java applets.

VBScripts are mostly use by active directory admins to orchestrare massive administration management.

But it also can be used like javascript.

The advantage of all those mentioned technologies are that they can be reused by any web programming language like PHP, ASP.NET C# J# VB, JSP, JSF, Struts, ASP, ColfFusion, HTML.

Each script you defined has its own importance in their plateform so you can't negate any of them.

JavaScript has very important role in web development. Nowadays it has become more powerful because of jQuery and many other libraries to enhance user experience.

Flash / Action Script has its important in flash applications / games.

Applets play a very important role JAVA applications.

VB Script plays its important role in VB applications.

So each script has its own important on their on platforms. We can prefer a script if we use2 or more scripts in1 application otherwise we can't. And there are very very rare chances to be used more than1 scripts at the same time in an application.
