How do you treat slavage goods in fire insurance claim?

The insurance company treat and process total loss claim and slavage as hereunder:-

  A) either , take slavage for their own account and pay full amount of claim to the insured . This what happend mostly.

  B) or , deduct the value of the slavage from total amount of claim paid to the insured and leave him the slavage.
