Which is better to any company or organization, to hire externally or to promote from within ? why ?

I agree with Noemi manzanares on her comment.

 

I will add:

1- promoting an employee or moving employees from position to position within the organization gives your employers power of knowledge and experince that will help you in many many ways.

these employees will be the key to this organization future a lot of organizations don't have career ladder for it's employees or even a way to promote them fairly if the organization can't grow much also with the economic issues we are dealing with so if you have the chance go for it

 

.2- for me i love to bring new fresh blood, different culture to the game, new ideas, new way of doing things when u mix things up you can get pretty intersting stuff

In the end all depends on the position it self, the quality of the employee you have already, what do you seek, what's your goal, who can do it better and what's the needed competencies.

Its better to promote thre resource from within the Organization, this excercise will help you to retain the other good resource at your organization and will build up the positive impact of your organization in the market as well.

1. In my opinion, the question has got2 different connotations and applications. In both the cases it has got positive and negative aspects to look at and decide very carefully.

2. If you promote someone within the organization it means the individual has got the potential to hold the position. It also stimulates to others to work hard for career development. But if you promote an inefficient guy, in that, you do not reach your target.

3. However, you can hire anyone externally who has got real potential and the individual is extraordinary for the post, in that, you may go ahead to fulfill your requirement.

You need to consider2 things with your question,

1. to promote your staff is a good step if there is one capable with the position the advantage of this one is you are sure that he/she is well known with the flow of the business.

 

2. to hire externally the positive side of this one is you will get fresher ideas.
