Since startups are new in business they must differentiate their offerings to employees in terms of benefits to attract talent from the industry as talent will then only be motivated to join to a certain extent. 

The benefits could be ESOPs or profit sharing, giving subsidised house building loans, healthcare facilities, recreation facilities, club memberships, incentive schemes like foreign trips etc on achieving ceratin mile stones or business goals and objectives.
