Why is Business Analyst a confused role..?Few companies use them on IT side,few as the mediator between b/w IT and Operations,few as Data Analyst.

In my opinion, technology is one of the major factor why Data analyst or other "Analysts" are not that click anymore in corporate world.. Most of the companies today use ERP (Oracle, SAP B1 etc.), reports are now  just a click away, with graphs and trend reports.
