Why Asset Management People insist on having both Serial Number as well as Asset Tag to identify a hardware asset.?

Both Serial Number and Asset Tag are important for tracking purpose. It need to be updated and well maintained in order to avoid mislead information. In some of the cases, having Asset Tag only does not able to really determine the current location of the asset due to duplicated or damaged. Hence, it needed Serial Number to help corfirmed the Asset Tag. This is because Serial Number is produced and given by manufacture, while Asset Tag is variance depended on company policy.

IT IS VERY MUCH HELPFUL IF WE TAG OUR ASSET WITH SERIAL NUMBER AND ASSET TAG SO THAT WE CAN KEEP TRACK OF THE ASSET IN A SYSTEMATIC MANNER. TO PREVENT ASSET LOSS.TRACKING AND MANAGING ASSETS BECOME EASIER.
