What is the difference between Stock and Inventory?

Though the two terminologies are close but we mostly use stock for running items raw or finished while inventory used for running items, spare parts, equipment and the verified stocks (audited stock)

stock the material for sale 

inventory the material usising on manufacturer 

Stock means the finished goods that are ready for sale and inventory means the raw materials used to manufacture the final material or goods.
