How do you save/modify a file in MS Excel which is protected by password?

As a professional I suggest that the best way is to check with the person who protected the sheet of the file.

You cannot modify/save change a file in MS Excel if it's protected by password unless you unlocked it. It's made to protect the file from being modified. You can save and create a new file though.
