PHP for the following reasons:

- many open source liberaries and frameworks

- very large community

PHP and ASP both have their importance. Their usage is depend on to be created project. In some cases, PHP is more valueable interms of project cost and vice versa.

 

Like, if I want to create some Shopping Cart website then my choice would be PHP because there are many FREE famouse PHP shopping cart solutions available in the market. What I would be needed is just a HOSTING Package to start my business.

 

Whereas if I want to automize my company accounts or invententory then I might be think about ASP solution.

 

We simply can not negate any of them. Both have their importance on their places but Choce is Yours what to be used!!
