Any chance you have tried Combit List and Label, Fast Report.Net, Crystal Report? Would you like to recommend one over the other or suggest another one altogether and why?
SSRS would be good option if you are looking for a good old stable reporting enviroment.But if you are in for a new,fresh tool,I would reccomend Izenda reporting tool.The beauty of Izenda is that the even cleints will be able to develop their own reports from a set of pre-loaded table/vies/sp's.The dashborads and the desgin forms are some of the innovative features of this tool.The tool supports asp .net web forms as well as mvc.We have written a lot of customisation using .net code for improving or even limiting the features of this tool(per user basis).
With that being said,the tool is far from being stable and can have bugs.But it should server your purpose of integrating the same with you .net application.
I Think crystal report is best for reporting in asp.net you can you any other reporting tool also.
Microsoft report viewer is the better:
- It is 100% supported and integrated with dotNet.
- Small size.
- Remote processing mode and Local processing mode.
- Does not require additional license (It is free).
