placebo effect is genrally the effect which is ussually given to people to bring change in people. and it have no real effect.

Placebo effect is a factitious condition which changes an individuals perception based on his/her own belief. It really depends on expectation of a person.

i think it refers to the psychological effect on patients when he take any medication and he trust that the drug absolutely has an effect so he begin to adapt himself
