As per my view, My answer is 'NO' because automation is not possible all the times so automation could not replace by manual testing. i worked for a lottery project where we have lot of diciplines which are inter linked with each other. In our project we can only use automation till some extent. Remaining we need to follow manual procedure. Only GUI part we caa automate. Remaining we have lot of processes like draw processings, day ending, reports and financial details verification , checking the errors and troubleshooting the errors etc. Automation testing will just helps to reduce the testing time and testing efforts till some extents but quality assurence can be assured by the manual tester only.
Note: To check/verify the automation a person needed who is manual tester
