Scrap is usually tangible only, While Waste could be tangible and intangible.

For better understanding please refer to: Waste vs. Scrap, One and the Same? By Benjamin Reese, on May,3:: PM

Thanks

Well, I have to admit that i have not a lot of knowledge according these terms, but i can say

Waste:Are the remainder of products such as ( papers, empty pencils, broken files and clear bags,..) i think it always related to stationery. which it can be recycled by third party not you nor supplier.

Scrap: Are used and-or broken machine, such as ( Vehicles, Cars, Copy machine, Scanners, Industrial machines, Wires, Cables, glasses, ....) which it can be sold in one batch for specific sector who collect such thing to re- selling them in retail for end users.

I hope answer above covered your question.

Generally speaking, the two terms are very blurred into each other and often used one in place of the other. However, technically, I agree with the explanation provided by  Mostafa Abu-Elsaad.

If i am not wrong so we should make thing easy not complicated, Scrap= thing that can be utilized after breakdown, Wast= things that cannot be utilized further

The scrap as per definition come from surplus, defective materials, without future use, etc.; and the waste are the discarded substances from a productive process.

Depending of each particular business schema, it can be used to have any other process or  revenue.

Term waste is used any type of resource which is not utilized (i.e. time, manpower, facility, materials etc... ) while term scrap is used for solid material which is in fact residual of any physical process & lost its importance for prime process in existing condition.

Waste is generally a by product of production and is measured for production efficiencies. It can sometimes be sold (ie. Food production wastes as stock feeds).

scrap on the  other hand usually refers to unrepairable engineering items that can no longer be used. The item composition may have some commercial value (ie. Scrap metals )

In some cases (ie. Component manufacturing from precious metals), the wastes or swarf, can also be sold as scrap.

wastes include defects, unnecessary inventory, and overproduction.

Scrap is the left over after production.
