Why centrifugal pump is not called as Positive Displacement type of pump?

Centrifugal pump is the radial flow pump because of its rotating impeller. the rotating impeller helps to the motion of the fluid in this type of pump . whereas, in +ve displacement type pump the fluid motion is controls by the gradually changing cross section of the pump.
