What is the effective way for increasing English Vocabulary?

Study not less than 5 new words every day. For example when you read a newspaper, when you visit a website or when you watch TV, pick up the new words. It can be like that

1 social, 1 cultural, 1 sports, 1 entertainment and 1 political

There is a dire need to shift our the mindset of the learner. Naturally one thinks in their native language then translate the thought into the second language.
