Are you hiring employees to fire.?

The readers may be surprised by the name of the article, others may have already experienced the same but knowingly ignore the importance because of so many professional reasons, when we work as an expatriate employee. Generally speaking, hiring and firing are one among the most used words in the dictionary of a Human resource professional. Hiring always gives happiness and firing is associated with unhappy/sad moments. Some professionals always say “nothing surprises me”.

No matter how good you are ‘you can always be replaced’. Depend on the type of the organization the hiring and firing pattern may vary drastically. They can adopt hiring and firing in the fast track, slow pace or combination of both.

This seems a silly question. Consider when hiring a person, that requires and investment of time and resources, especially so when hiring a candidate that requires relocation to the Middle East. Firing an employee, or even having one leave on his or her own accord, within the first year, often reflects poorly on the hiring manager. To hire someone with the intent to fire them seems neither productive nor beneficial to the organization.

There are of course circumstances when newly hired employees do end up having to be let go. Executive management may determine layoffs are needed for the company, and often times the newly hired are the first impacted. Or, the contract the employee was working on was terminated or not renewed, again requiring employees working on that contract to be let go if work elsewhere cannot be found for them.
