Instead of newspapers, can't we use technology to get information?

Well, using newspapers is will get you a verified source of the information, however using the technology could be both verified and a lot of false information.

we used technology instead news paper because we all know that everything is in technology now! 

Newspaper is as good as the company/lobby which is behind it. online news is the best way to have information as easier to compare how news are reported from different website. Furthermore, you ll get info in real time and wont have to wait for the news to be printed. this can lead to false news but the fact that you ll have as many sources as you want online, with a minimum of research, you can know what is right or wrong

We are witnessing a shift of dependency from newspaper to electronic media in order to be updated.

Technology is leading us to more convenient ways to learn, observe, teach and align our self to the outer world,

So the answer to your question is we are already using and are dependent on technology to get info instead of newspapers.
