What are the challenges of tourism in the Middle East region?

Barriers of tourism that can be of challenge in the middle east region can be political problems, visa procedures, heavy tourism traffic, carrying capacity etc.

the answer is simple political instability , social conservatism and lack of strategy making to attract tourists, Dubai had done a great job to attract tourists but still its a destination for a group of people. We should advertise the middle east as a peaceful open minded destination for tourists, Especially in the emerging markets like China .

Missing casinos & nightlife  is one of the biggest reason why travellers choosing other destination over Dubai & Middle east. Being a poor country Thailand has done remarkable progress in tourism despite slowdown in economy & with less developed infrastructure.The less exotic places is also one of the reason. Tourist wants to enjoy the freedom where in middle east he feels little scared of laws.
