What is inflation and how should it affect my investing?

At the period of Inflation two main things happend 1- there will be general increase in the prices of goods 2-Purching power of people will decrease its mean people donot have enough money to buy the goods, so it inversily affect on your Investment so people will not buy the goods and have not much money so they do not want to buy your product and you face loses in business, so in inflation you do not need to invest huge amount otherwise due to huge loses you will stop your business and company.
